Important Elections Message and Appeal for Support

Dear friends,

Elections Message

Many people are deeply affected by the results of the recent U.S. election. Reporting on this is not easy. Several subscribers have emailed saying they don't like or disagree with what we've reported.

What you may not realize is that the over 14,000 subscribers to the list come from widely differing political persuasions and from a rich variety of cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds.

Among our U.S. subscribers, we have many conservative Republicans who care about our country, many liberal Democrats who want to ensure that everyone is cared for, and everything in between. About 1/3 of our subscribers live outside of the U.S., and they are even more diverse.

In these recent elections, I know without doubt that thousands of our readers are supporters of Donald Trump and believe Hillary Clinton is in cahoots with the power elite of our world. At the same time, thousands of our readers are supporters of Hillary Clinton and believe Donald Trump is in cahoots with the power elite of our world. And thousands more, like me, don't support many parts of the agendas of either of these candidates.

The reason has such a wide range of supporters is because we do our best not to take sides in the left/right debate. Polarization only serves to keep us focused on working against each other. The power elite of our world know this and continue to use the polarization card, even with this recent election, so that we get caught up in fighting against each other and forget about them.

I invite us to notice when we fall into the polarization trap where we end up fighting each other, and then choose to bring the focus back to exposing the manipulations of the 1%. It's not about what the liberals or conservatives are doing, it's about the way many of the world's elite are manipulating all of us to gain ever more money and power to themselves. And let's not forget about looking inside to where each of us, too, can be greedy and power hungry. Ultimately it is up to each of us to do our best to change the part of the world within our reach.

So where does this leave me in choosing news articles to be summarized and posted? I do my best not to persuade anyone in any particular political direction, but rather to focus on shining light into any dark shadows that negatively impact us, no matter where they fall on the political spectrum. I find it important to share inspiring articles, too, that call us to our greatness. I do my best not to take sides, deeply believing that ultimately we are all on the same side. And I'm not perfect and at times may upset some with my choices. For this I apologize.

My hope is to inspire our readers to remember that we are all human. People of all political persuasions want to feel loved, valued, and respected. If we remember this, it's actually not that difficult to come together both to inspire each other and to shine light onto the manipulations of the 1%, so the we can make a real difference in our world. By focusing less on divisive partisan politics and more on what each of us can do to play our part, I have no doubt that we are making a difference.
