Secret Societies, the Occult, and John Dee

I so appreciated the inspiring comments I received from some of you in response to the "In the Know" email on who created God and consciousness I sent just over a month ago. Thank you for the rich and stimulating ideas and conversation.

Secret Societies and the Occult
In the last year, I've been doing some fascinating explorations into the role of secret societies and the occult on our planet. It's been surprising in my readings how many times I've run across certain names like L. Ron Hubbard (Scientology founder, check this link for fascinating info regarding Scientology and remote viewing), Andrija Puharich (intelligence, remote viewing, mind control, and more), and Aleister Crowley (of the occult organization OTO).
Yet going back even further in history -- over four centuries -- many times I've run into the name John Dee as a very important and instrumental player in the occult world. Hubbard and Crowley are just two key players who were deeply influenced by his scholarly and occult work. In certain esoteric circles, Dee's work is still very highly esteemed.
Introducing John Dee
John Dee (1527-1608) was one of the most influential and deeply educated people who laid the foundations for the enlightenment and all modern sciences. Yet he also devoted much of his life to the study of alchemy, divination, and Hermetic philosophy, which were very accepted and honored fields of study in his day.
According to the wikipedia entry on Dee, "He devoted much time and effort in the last thirty years or so of his life to attempting to commune with angels in order to learn the universal language of creation and bring about the pre-apocalyptic unity of mankind."
Dee had the largest library in England and one of the largest in all Europe. He also served as an occasional adviser and tutor to Queen Elizabeth. There is evidence that the Rosicrucian Order grew directly out of his esoteric explorations. His influence on occult organizations like the OTO (Ordo Templi Orientis) is fully acknowledged.

I offer this information for those who might want to explore deeper the influence of the occult and secret societies on what is happening in our world today. I believe this influence is far greater than most people would ever suspect. I learned a lot about just how deep all of this goes from an eye-opening book by Peter Moon (aka Vince Barbarick) titled "Synchronicity and the Seventh Seal." It is the best single book I've read yet on this intriguing topic.
One of the things I do when reading potentially powerful material by an author is to make spot checks of "facts" presented in their work. If it is really good stuff, I will do a dozen or more spot checks, as I did on Peter Moon's fascinating book. These spot checks showed that though Moon will occasionally exaggerate to prove his point, he has done excellent research in putting together information which is quite difficult to find synthesized elsewhere.
I also have a friend who knows this man personally. She says his research is generally high quality, though he is a very strange man who she doesn't fully trust. With that in mind, if you have knowledge and interest in these matters, I do highly recommend "Synchronicity and the Seventh Seal."
The Veil
On a somewhat related topic, I've been exploring a lot recently into the split between this physical reality based in time and space and the other side of the veil (non-traditional dimensions and altered states of reality). It seems that long ago a huge block or veil was somehow created to keep these realities separate. I suspect that our three-dimensional world was somehow created by beings on both sides of the veil, i.e. from both the realms of time/space and the spirit world.
I've also come to suspect that many, if not most beings in these two differing realms in some way fear or at least strongly judge each other. I'm actually having fun exploring how to build bridges between these worlds and invite beings on both sides to transcend fear and judgment and work together for the good of us all. It's quite exciting stuff that I hope to include in the Divine Mystery website, whenever I get time to focus some attention there.

Musings of an inquisitive spirit on life and consciousness
The only place we ever exist
is at the center of our own consciousness.The only time we ever exist
is right now.We are all consciousness exploring itself in this ever-expanding sacred moment.
Somehow my consciousness reaches through space to encounter you. Somehow a connection is made and our separate consciousnesses become aware of each other, allowing us to engage in the dance of life. I am able to include you in my consciousness experience, just as you include me, and that makes life richer for both of us. As we open our consciousness ever more to all that is around us, we engage ever more fully with all around us in this process we call life.
Even though I am always here at the center of my own consciousness, I find I am continually expanding my awareness to include ever more of all around me. The more I feel connected with all around me and open to All That Is, the more I and my consciousness grow and blossom. I've seen that the more I am able to embrace all that I perceive and encounter with love and compassion, the more my consciousness expands, and the more rich my experience of life becomes.
We are all exploring this thing called life as we connect with ourselves and with all around us from the center of our own consciousness. Yet many end up feeling quite alone or isolated at times in this journey. They explore deep into the feeling of separation, often only to find it lacking in richness and depth.
Yet there is value in all experiences, including both separation and connection. I suspect that somehow each one of our consciousnesses is like an individuated fragment within the greater mind or consciousness of All That Is. We are each individuated cells in the mind of God. My/our consciousness is somehow an inseparable part of the universal consciousness, even when I/we may feel all alone.
Though all of this resonates strongly for me, I really don't know how it works. How can there be a greater or universal consciousness of which I'm a part, when my only direct experience of life is what I experience in my own consciousness? I know that we are all somehow interconnected on the deeper or more expanded energetic levels, yet only occasionally do I get glimpses of this in my daily life. It is truly a divine mystery which I continue to love exploring.
This thing called existence is strange indeed. Yet I somehow have no doubt that it is all an amazing miracle, too, if only I/we choose to open to it. May all of us be blessed with ever more abundant miracles and the joy of loving interconnectedness.
